Temperature Measurement

The Temperature Sensor

There are a number of temperature sensors on the market that we could use for[easyazon_cta add_to_cart=”default” align=”right” asin=”B00G7OGXCC” cloaking=”default” height=”28″ key=”wide-light” localization=”default” locale=”UK” nofollow=”default” new_window=”default” tag=”tronic03-21″ width=”170″] this project, but I have settled for one of the more common ones, the DS18S20 from Maxim Integrated Products. For the initial prototype device, I will be using the though-hole version (the TO-92 package) of the sensor so that it can be plugged into a breadboard (see image on the right – Trivia: it says ‘Dallas’ on the image as it was originally made by Dallas Semiconductor which was acquired by Maxim in 2001).
