The Platform

It’s pretty basic and the motors are on the lower end for quality but I figure I can swap them out later if I need a more robust set. The kit itself is well built and customisable to a degree. It doesn’t come with any instructions but it is pretty straightforward to figure out. In addition, a number of people have put up videos on how to put it together for instance, see here. Once the motors, the main power switch, and the power plug (for recharging batteries) had their wires soldered on, the base of the platform was assembled and the wheels added as in the picture below.

At this point the motor drivers and the electronics needed to be worked out as the plan was to mount them directly to this wheeled base. The planned upper platform would be assembled later and would hold the camera and any other functional hardware.
